The
King Calls First Parliamentary Session on 23 September
After the National Election
Committee (NEC) has announced the official election results, the King has
issued a royal letter concerning the first parliamentary session for the 5th
mandate on 23 September, yet the Cambodian National Rescue Party (CNRP) still
confirms that it will not participate in the session. “I will invite all
elect-makers in the fifth mandate of National Assembly for the first
parliamentary session on 23 September at the National Assembly Palace”, the
King said in a royal letter to H.E. Im Suosdey, Chairman of the NEC, dated 9

CPP
Accepts the Official Election Results
After the official election
results has been announced by the National Election Committee (NEC), the
Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) has issued a statement to accept it. In a
statement dated 8 September, “CPP is pleased to accept the official election
results of the 5th mandate announced by the NEC and it is committed
to defend the result emerged from the people’s will. The election was conducted
in a free, just and fair manner in accordance with the constitution of Cambodia
and the principles of democracy. Besides, CPP also expressed his profound
thanks to all the nations for their support, saying that Cambodian people still
trust CPP in leading the country despite some people have found a way to break
the relationship between CPP and the nations. In addition, CPP highly
appreciate the NEC for its effort to fulfill its duty to make sure that the
