King Reconfirms CNRP to Attend the National Assembly
Session 0n 23 September

His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni reconfirmed the 55 newly-elected lawmakers of Cambodian National Rescue Party (CNRP) to attend the National Assembly session on 23 September 2013. “According to the new article 82 of the Constitution, I would like to inform Your Excellency and Lok Chumteav that I will preside over the first session of the 5th legislature of National Assembly to be held on 23 September, 2013 as stated in my royal invitation letter dated 14 September 2013. Therefore, I would like Your Excellency and Lok Chumteav to attend the first National Assembly to show the national unification and unity”, said the Cambodian King in a message in reply to the 55 newly-elected lawmakers of the main opposition CNRP. H.E. Leng Peng Long, Secretary General of the National Assembly, announced yesterday in a press release that the first session of the fifth legislature of the National Assembly will be opened on 23 September 2013, at 8:00 am, under the Royal Presidency of His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni as well as the presences from the high-rank official, the diplomats, and some non-governmental organizations. South Korean President Congratulates Samdech Techo on His New Victory in the General Election

H.E. Park Geun-hye, President of the Republic of Korea, expressed her warmest congratulations to Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) on victory in the 2013 general election for the fifth legislature of the National Assembly. “I strongly believe that under your outstanding leadership, Cambodia will continue to achieve political stability and economic development. In particular, I have no doubt that your efforts and wisdom will lead Cambodia to a new era. With satisfaction of the friendly ties between our two countries, I am looking forward to working closely with you in all fields of mutual benefit. I wish you good health, and for the everlasting prosperity of your esteemed country”, said the President in a letter to Samdech Techo Hun Sen dated 17 September 2013.
