The
Workers Should Keep Calm Not to Believe a Politician
Mr. Chhoun Momthol, President
of Cambodia Confederation of Trade Unions, has appealed to all the workers to
keep calm not to participate in the upcoming protest. An appeal was made after
the Cambodian National Rescue Party (CNRP) declared to make a non-violent
demonstration on 7 September in order to claim for the establishment of an
independent committee to investigate the irregularities during the election. According
to an appeal from the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training dated 2
September, Confederation of Trade Unions and all members keep calm and continue
fulfill their duties not to believe an incitement and propaganda of politician,
which cause insecurity, disorder and the living of the people. (Kampuchea Tmey,

Cambodia
Supports East Timor to Become the ASEAN Member
Cambodia has declared to
support the Democratic Republic of East Timor to become the 11th member of
ASEAN, and the two countries have also signed a Memorandum of Understanding
(MoU) on trade economy and technology cooperation. During the meeting with H.E.
Kay Rala Xanana Gusmao, Prime Minister and Minister for Defense and Security of
the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, Samdech Techo Hun Sen highlighted that Cambodia
was strongly support East Timor to become the ASEAN member without any
