Mr. Sam Rainsy Says No Demonstration for the Upcoming Monday

Mr. Sam Rainsy, the leader of Cambodian National Rescue Party, assured that a negotiation between Cambodian National Rescue Party (CNRP) and Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) still on the process. He also rejected that there will be no demonstration on 26 August 2013; it is just a talk with the people at Freedom Park. (Rasmei Kampuchea, 24 August 2013)

The Investment of Korean Companies in Cambodia Increases

The investment of Korean companies in Cambodia has increased rapidly in all fields, said Mr. Choi Yong Jun, Counsellor to the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Cambodia. In 2012, the investment volume of the Republic of Korea in Cambodia was 270 million USD worth, which enable Korea to become having more investments among other countries in Cambodia. Besides trade investment, lots of Korean companies are implementing its work for society such as health and education sector. It also makes an effort to develop Cambodia’s social economy through many tasks, he added. (Kampuchea Tmey, 25-26 August 2013)  

Korea Donates 100 Toilets for 10 Schools in Phnom Penh

The Department of Education, Youth and Sports in Phnom Penh received 100 toilets from AJU Company through Korea fund organization for world aid in Cambodia. The donation will go to support for 10 schools which lack of toilets. The handover ceremony was held on 22 August 2013 with the presences from Mr. Choi Yong Jun, Counsellor to the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Cambodia, Mr. Yon Ki Won, Chairman of AJU Company and Mr. Chea Cheat, Chief of Phnom Penh Municipal Department of Education, Youth and Sports. The supporting 100 toilets including 67 toilets for female students, 76 urinals for male students and 86 vessel sinks. The contribution of AJU Company is very important as it can promote the hygiene and environment of the school. More importantly, it further strengthens a good cooperation and friendship between the Government of the Republic of Korea and the Royal Government of Cambodia, said Mr. Chea Cheat.
