Back on Talk at the National Assembly Proves Fruitless
The working groups of
Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) and Cambodian National Rescue Party (CNRP) have decided
to meet again yesterday at the National Assembly in order to solve the problem
during the election and to reach an agreement concerning the political tension.
The meeting between the leaders of the two parties is to solve country’s
problem and benefit of the people after the election, said Mr. Prum Sokha, a
representative of CNRP. After a two-hour meeting, a representative of both
parties issued a joint statement, which declared that both parties understand mutual
will and purpose in order to reach an agreement and both parties will inform
their leaders to get advice and look into the possibility to meet again. Anyhow,
the meeting had not been reached the real point; it just shows the mutual will
to solve the problem concerning the election and understands the purpose and
idea so as to reach an agreement. “We are both still hoping that our high-level
politicians will finally come to a resolution and noting that post-election
procedures were still moving ahead smoothly. What is very good is that we have
met and debated. If we had not met, that could be called deadlock. The
political groups are still debating the law; expert groups are still working
normally. Therefore, I think that there is no deadlock”, he added. (Rasmei
