CPP Wins 68 Seats versus 55 Seats

The National Election Committee (NEC) announced the election results on 28 July 2013, yet it hasn’t calculated the seat. Anyhow, the primary election results, which has advertised is not different from the upcoming official result. According to the source from Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), the CPP won 68 seats in the whole country, and the Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) won 55 seats among the 123-seat National Assembly. According to the calculation from the election observation organizations, the CPP won 67 seats, and the Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) won 56 seats. (Rasmei Kampuchea, 30 July 2013)


International Observers Appreciates the Elections as Free, Fair and Transparent

The international observers have appreciated the election in Cambodia as free, fair and transparent. The 36 international observers from representative delegation of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) and the Centrist Asia Pacific Democrats International (CAPDI) were invited to observe the elections in Cambodia. The delegations visited the polling stations and issued a statement, which considered the elections in Cambodia were free, fair and transparent. (Rasmei Kampuchea, 30 July 2013)   



The Case of Burning Military Vehicles in Front of Stung Meanchey Pagoda Investigated

The Officers of the Royal Gendarmerie are seeking and investigating the arrest of people who burned and destroyed the two military vehicles on 28 July 2013.  The cruel violence of the citizens against the Officers of the Royal Gendarmerie was happened after the Major General Mr. Ya Kim Ie, Commander of Gendarmerie of Phnom Penh, led the force in order to liberate Mrs. Yin Kim Sieng, the Chairman of the National Election Committee at Stung Meanchey district, who had not been allowed to leave the election room by some citizens and monks. Later, the violence was exploded as rioters threw volleys of rocks and burned two military vehicles. (Rasmei Kampuchea, 30 July 2013)
