Mr. Sam Rainsy Returns Home Today

Cambodian opposition leader Mr. Sam Rainsy arrived in Phnom Penh on 19 July 2013, at 9:05 am, after the royal pardon for him following a request from Samdech Techo Hun Sen after a four-year exile. Around 20,000 cheering supporters greeted Mr. Sam Rainsy at the airport, while the other 20,000 cheering supporters greeted him at Democracy Park. (Rasmei Kampuchea, 19 July 2013)

Korean Science Students Specialized in Forests have Field Study at Preah Vihear Province

The 24 Korean students of Forest Science University led by Professor Jae InPark and Mr. Jae Hong Jun, the Project Director of Cambodia-Korea Forest Promotion Agency, had field study so as to learn and research about tree plantation and agro-industry of Try Pheap Group Co, Ltd Company which located in Oh Por village, Srok Rovieng, Preah Vihear province on 17 July 2013. The students inspected the rubber plantation site in each province, and jointly grew the rubbers with the workers and company’s staffs. The representative of the 24 students showed interest and highly appreciated the progress of the company’s investment, saying that green plantation is very useful in responding to the climate change.  Busan City of South Korea Further Strengthens Cooperation with Phnom Penh

Delegate of International Action Fund of Busan City of the Republic of Korea, led by Mr. Kim Hun Sik met Mr. Trak Thai Sieng, Deputy Governor of Phnom Penh on 17 July 2013. During the meeting, both sides highlighted a good cooperation between both cities, adding that Phnom Penh and Busan City signed a friendship agreement since 11 June 2009. Besides, both cities exchanged its experience in the field of culture and fine arts since 2010. More importantly, Busan provided 8 fire trucks and emergency cars to Phnom Penh Municipality since 2011. (Rasmei Kampuchea, 19 July 2013)
