In
Southeast Asia, the Majority of Cambodian Citizens Believe the Government Be
Able to Fight against Corruption Effectively
Most of Cambodian citizens
believe their government in fighting against corruption more than other nations
in Southeast Asia. Transparency International Cambodia yesterday showed the
result of the world’s public opinion survey on corruption of Transparency
International of the year 2013 under the theme “Everyday Life and Corruption,
the People’s View on Southeast Asia Region”. For Cambodia, the result depends
on the survey of one thousand Cambodian citizens. According to the report, the
citizens had been asked to exchange views on the question “How effective of the
government in fighting against corruption?’’. For the answer, in Indonesia,
there was only 16% of citizens think that their government would be able to
fight against corruption effectively, while there was 25% in Thailand, 24% in
Vietnam, 41% in Malaysia, and 31% in Malaysia. Yet, in Cambodia, 57% of
Cambodian citizens believe that their government will be able to fight against
corruption effectively. (Rasmei Kampuchea, 10 July 2013)
