Cannot Restore Parliamentary Immunity
for
Mr. Sam Rainsy
The permanent committee of the
National Assembly yesterday held a meeting so as to verify Mr. Sam Rainsy’s
request for restore his parliamentary immunity. After the whole morning
meeting, the permanent committee of the National Assembly has unanimously
decided to reject Mr. Sam Rainsy’s request. “The permanent committee of the
National Assembly has unanimously decided not to restore your immunity since
you have become the President of the Cambodia National Rescue Party, which is a
party that has no seat in the fourth legislature of the National Assembly”,
Samdech Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly, wrote in a letter to
Mr. Sam Rainsy on 25 July 2013. (Rasmei Kampuchea, 26 July 2013)

Techo Provides a Budget of 450,000 USD for Pine Great Factory Workers through
the Ministry of Social Affairs
Premier Hun Sen has decided to
provide a budget with the amount of 450,000 USD to the Ministry of Social
Affairs, Veteran and Youth Rehabilitation so as to provide the wages and other
benefits to 732 workers who working for Pine Great Factory. The factory has
been collapsed due to the factory owner had fled the country without providing
the wages and other benefits to employees since April 2013, said Mr. Vong
Vanna, Advisor to the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veteran and Youth
Rehabilitation. “We are very pleased to see Samdech Techo solve a problem for
us, and we will vote for Cambodian People’s Party as they always help the
workers”, said Mrs. Ker Sokhom, representative of the workers. (Kampuchea Tmey,
