Hor
Namhong: The Citizens to Meet Difficulties If They Choose the Wrong Leader
“A ballot of each citizen is
very significant and they will probably meet difficulties if they choose the
wrong leader. Therefore, I would like to suggest all the citizens to think
clearly before making decision in choosing a strong leader for the upcoming
election on 28 July 2013”, said H.E. Hor Namhong, Minister of Foreign Affairs
and International Cooperation during the meeting with 3,000 peoples at Kompong
Cham province yesterday. (Kampuchea Tmey, 12 July 2013)
National
Election Committee Shows the 2012 Voters’ List Audit Report
National Election Committee
(NEC) showed the 2012 voters’ list audit report in the aim of showing its
honesty in organizing voters’ list and making accuracy of the clarification of NGOs regarding
the disappearance of the voters’ name on the 2013 voters’ list. Some 91 percent
of Cambodia’s total populations have registered to vote, and the voter
registration was found to be lower in the age from 18 to 24 with 67 percent on
average, said H.E. Im Soursdey, Chairman of National Election Committee. Cambodia
has a very low population, and it is expected to see the majority of people who
registered for the first time. In total, 6 percent of all registrations were a first
time registration, which appears on the lower side.
The reason for this is the lower registration level
found in the younger age segment, according to the report. (Rasmei
