Government Decides to
Establish Commission Research on Election Reform
The
Cambodian government has decided to establish commission research on election
reform, which will be chaired by H.E. Sar Kheng, Minister of Interior. The
commission is responsible to research on laws, regulations, and experiences
related to the election from other countries and organize national level
seminar to collect comments and recommendations from national and international
community including representative of institutions legislative, executive,
registered political parties that represent the national election committee, other
embassies, civil society, international organization and other development
partners, institutions and other relevant persons with the principal of
democracy and the rule of law, and this commission has a role to make a report
to the Prime Minister about the result of seminar including comments and
recommendations in order to build a framework electoral reform to request a policy

Mr. Sam Rainsy Leaves
Phnom Penh to Other Countries in Europe
The
opposition party Mr. Sam Rainsy left for some countries in Europe on 23 January
2014 so as to attend the human rights council meeting in Switzerland and he will
leave for France, Germany and other countries in Europe, said Mr. Yem
