CNRP Sets Three Conditions For a Talk with CPP

The Cambodian National Rescue Party (CNRP) showed its stance again by setting three conditions for a talk with Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) before attending the upcoming National Assembly session. CPP said that it still show its stance waiting for a talk with CNRP depending on liberal multi-party democracy and state of law. According to a high-level officer of CNRP, during a permanent committee meeting of CNRP on 28 October 2013, Mr. Sam Rainsy and Mr. Kem Sokha have discussed some important issues concerning a talk with CPP before the National Assembly session. The three important points including: 1. To claim for the change of the National Election Committee (NEC) 2. To establish the investigation committee for the irregularities during the election 3. To reform the NEC in the near future. A talk will be happened very shortly, but the date has not been set yet. (Rasmei Kampuchea, 30 October 2013)

Mr. Sam Rainsy Says No Plan to Talk with CPP

There is no talk between the leader of CPP and CNRP concerning the solution for the remaining issues and the upcoming reform of election with a fair, just and free manner. “There will be no meeting between CPP and CNRP as well as I will not attend the National Assembly session, but just wait and see. Besides, I also have no plan to communicate with H.E. Sar Kheng, Minister of Interior”, said Mr. Sam Rainsy, a leader of CNRP, after finished Kakthen Ceremony on 28 October. 2.                 Korea’s Interest in Cambodia

KOICA Grants Aid Over 100 Million USD on Health Sector

The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) has further strengthened cooperation with Cambodia. As a matter of fact, Cambodia is the first country in receiving financial aid from Korea. According to Mr. Kim Yong Mok, Chairman of KOICA, the Republic of Korea lately has granted aid over 100 million USD to Cambodia and those aids mainly focused on health sector. The aid will be continued in addition to the construction of Cambodia-Korea Ophthalmology Center including the cooperation on transmitted diseases reinforcement, hospital construction at Kompong Chhnang and Siem Reap Province, as well as reinforcement of health officers at Kompong Cham Province.
